Chapter 4 Lab (Feb 19):




You may work in groups. (But turn in your own answers.)
Type your answers.

1.  	Look up RFC 2616 on the website link provided at our class
	website.  What information did you find?


2.	Access the link to Ping and Traceroute utilities.
	Provide screen captures for ping and traceroute
	for three websites.  Describe the information you
	received.  Interpret the results.

3.	Access the link to the dig utility.  Cut and paste
	the results for 3 sites.  Describe what you found.
	Interpret the results.

4.	Build a simple web page.  (These will be linked on
	our class website.)  For those who know HTML, please
	help by teaching your classmates. We'll spend some time
	in class on this.

5.	Answer review questions 4.1 through 4.15 on p. 158.

HOMEWORK DUE FEB 19

1.  Due some searching on the internet to get information on
    Voice over Internet Protocol, VoIP. (P. 137 of the book)
    What is it used for?  How has it developed?  What is its
    future?  Write one page describing your findings and
    provide a list of your sources.

2.  Read Chapter 5.  Take notes on terms.

3.  Send me an e-mail stating you have read and understand
    the revised syllabus.
